Making Shakespeare more accessible for students, including making the Bard's plays come alive in the classroom and on stage, is the goal of NESE's 2008 educational outreach program, which is aimed at schools and libraries in New Hampshire and Vermont.

Since 2004, NESE has provided students at local schools and libraries with free tickets to its productions to help them appreciate what makes Shakespeare so enriching. In 2007 NESE expanded its educational outreach by conducting a series of in-school workshops in 12 elementary and secondary schools in New Hampshire and Vermont, in addition to giving the students free tickets to its performances of King Lear. In all, NESE gave over 3,000 free tickets to students, their families and friends through schools and through 28 New Hampshire and 23 Vermont libraries.

In 2008, NESE is expanding its workshops to 24 schools and distributing over 4,000 free tickets to students.

NESE has been recognized for its educational outreach program with grants from the N.H. State Council on the Arts, the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation-Upper Valley Region, the Arthur Getz Charitable Trust and the Byrne Foundation underwriting the school workshops and the distribution of free tickets to students.
